# Nasolabial Wrinkles

What the Nasolabial Wrinkles parameter measures between the nose and the corners of the mouth, and how to read the grades it returns.

## About Parameter

This parameter assesses the visibility and severity of nasolabial wrinkles (also known as smile lines or laugh lines), which are creases that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth. These wrinkles become more prominent with age due to decreased skin elasticity and natural volume loss, along with the downward shift of facial tissues.

## Features

1. Works with 1 and 3 side facial images.

## Output

1. Grade from 1 to 5
2. Algorithm-assigned skin condition tag (Great, Good, Average, Poor).
3. Vector mask for detected features.

## Grades Description

<table><thead><tr><th width="120.4296875">Grade value</th><th width="490.90234375">Description</th><th>Tags</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>1</td><td>No visible folds or wrinkles. The skin appears smooth and even.</td><td>Great</td></tr><tr><td>2</td><td>Subtle fullness in the cheek appears, extending from the nasal wing and creating a gentle shadow.</td><td>Good</td></tr><tr><td>3</td><td>A prominent cheek volume creates an elongated roll from the nasal wing toward the lips. No deep creases are present, though fine lines may appear.</td><td>Average</td></tr><tr><td>4</td><td>The cheek volume forms a defined fold with a noticeable crease or deep wrinkle at its base.</td><td>Poor</td></tr><tr><td>5</td><td>A deep fold appears with a prominent wrinkle at its base. The fold's contour is sharp and well-defined.</td><td>Poor</td></tr></tbody></table>

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.saas.haut.ai/haut.ai/haut.ai-features/algorithms/face-skin-analysis-3-0/lines/nasolabial-wrinkles.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
