# Melasma

What the Melasma parameter assesses, where these patches typically appear, and the output it returns in Face Skin Analysis 3.0.

## About Parameter

This parameter assesses the visibility of melasma, which presents as symmetrical brown or gray-brown patches on the face, particularly on the cheeks, forehead, upper lip, nose, and chin. These patches typically become more noticeable with sun exposure, hormonal changes (such as pregnancy or birth control use), and can vary in intensity based on genetic predisposition and environmental factors.

## Features

1. Works with 1 and 3 side facial images.

## Output

1. Density in per mille (‰) for the whole face and specific facial regions: nose, forehead, perioral, left cheek, right cheek.
2. Vector mask for detected features.
