# Pores

What the Pores parameter counts, the facial zones and size categories it reports on, and how to read its scores and grades.

## About Parameter

The parameter detects and counts visible facial pores—the surface openings of sebaceous glands. Pore visibility is influenced by sebum output, skin texture, age, and genetics, and changes in pore appearance are a common way to track skin-quality progress over time.

## Features

1. Per-zone analysis across nose, forehead, left cheek, and right cheek.
2. Pores are reported in two size categories: all visible pores, and enlarged pores.
3. Eye and mouth (perioral) regions are excluded to avoid mistaking eyelashes, fine lines, and lip texture for pores.
4. Works with a single front image or a 3-side triplet (front, left, right).

## Output

1. Score from 1 to 100 for overall pore appearance. The score penalises enlarged pores much more heavily than small ones, so it primarily reflects enlarged-pore burden.
2. Grade from 1 to 5 (discretized score band).
3. Algorithm-assigned skin condition tag (Great, Good, Average, Poor).
4. Number of all visible pores, for the whole face and broken down by zone (nose, forehead, left cheek, right cheek).
5. Number of enlarged pores, with the same per-zone breakdown.
6. Vector masks for detected pores and for enlarged pores, returned per available side (front, left, right).

Please note that the pores mask, score, and grade are all calculated based on pore count and pore size distribution across both size categories (all visible pores and enlarged pores).
